Daniel Patterson is a seasoned professional with over 18 years of expertise in enterprise risk management, with a focus on compliance, operational risk, and data privacy across various international locations, including Ireland, Spain, and the Netherlands. Notably, he has held significant roles as an EU Data Protection Officer for a prominent Irish life assurance company and a global payments company. Daniel is a certified data protection officer (CDPO) with Compliance Ireland and holds the CIPP/E and CIPM certifications. He is also a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Recently, Daniel took on the responsibility of leading the Data Protection Office at the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) as the Data Protection Commissioner. In this capacity, he plays a vital role in overseeing, managing, and providing guidance to firms on all aspects of data protection within the QFC, ensuring their adherence to relevant regulations and best practices.
